Jamie Walter is an outdoor-focused photographer and commercial filmmaker based in Maine. Jamie has been shooting professionally for over a decade and his work has found its way into the pages of every major North American ski publication. Jamie's passion for skiing and photography has taken him all around the world, but his focus more recently has been capturing experiences and moments that inspire him in his backyard of New England. When he’s not skiing in the winter, Jamie is an avid mountain biker, hiker, and dog dad to Wilder and Ruski.
I believe in Stio’s value of being a caretaker. I feel like I'm a steward of my backyard here in Maine. Promoting the area is important to me, but I want to represent it by educating others on the importance of preservation, conservation and protection of the land and places I love so much, so that everyone can enjoy it the way I do.
Finding balance can be incredibly difficult, but getting outside always helps me find clarity. There is nothing more freeing for my soul than disconnecting and getting out in nature, especially where cell service drops off and I can truly be in a moment.
Top of my list: summit the Grand Teton and visit my Stio family out in Jackson!
I’ve been on a heavy metal kick lately - Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Tool, Megadeth… it gets me fired up!
Combining my passions for the outdoors and photography to make them a career and lifestyle has been the best thing I've ever done for myself. Just remember to reflect and appreciate the opportunity—soak in every moment you can!
