A first-time filmmaker, Ryan won last year’s first Adventure Filmmakers Pitch Event, which Stio created and hosted in partnership with 5Point Film to support visual storytellers in mountain towns who share our love of adventure, balance, conservation and connection with nature.

Ryan used the $15,000 grant to create “Diagonal,” which she hopes will “turn your understanding of connection with people and nature, if not upside down, then at least diagonal."
