- excellent down jacket Review by brucemac
Quality Love It Scale Value
6ft, 205lb, athletic build, size large = perfect fit.
I had my eye on this piece all season and nearly pulled the trigger more than a couple times. It went up for sale a week or so ago in my size/color and I couldn't resist. The fit and finish is top notch. I don't know that I will necessarily ski in it as I prefer 3L Gore-Tex shells for layering, staying dry and their weight, but if I wanted to use this on an exceptionally cold day taking laps it seems like it would not disappoint. The pit zips and over-sized helmet compatible hood would be perfect. The hood is truly large enough to pull over your helmet, which isn't always the case with other jackets. It's super comfy and the over-sized wrist straps are burly. Really, the only things I am somewhat skeptical of are its level of water proofing (no experience with Toraydelfy yet) and potentially the risk of rips and tears on the outer material; i.e., not sure you would want to ski tree lines. For me, this piece is ideal for cold, dry and windy days for sure. Glad I scored one!

- Great Down Ski Jacket Review by SkitheWasatch
Love It Scale Value Quality
I have watched Stio the last few years and finally pulled the trigger this year on some Stio purchases. It was a great decision. I am 5 11 and 180lbs and the Medium fits perfect. I purchased the jacket in black. I wear this Jacket with my orange Stio environ bibs (my favorite ski pants now). The pros for this Jacket are as follows. The detachable helmet compatible hood. It removes easy and actually works on a helmet. I can easily pull it up over my helmet on the chair lift on a cold day and cinch it down. When skiing it is easy to take off the helmet. The extra insulation in the hood helps on cold chair lift days. Similar to the Shot 7, the zipper has padding so the zipper is not exposed and hitting my chin when zipped up. The pockets are spot on. Two chest pockets lined and insulated. I can keep my phone in one pocket and it stays warm and the battery does not die from the cold. The two insulated exterior hand pockets are great also. The interior pockets are functional for holding extra goggle lenses, etc. The sleeves are like the Shot 7 jacket. They extend longer over the top of the glove. A great idea. The sleeves are also wide enough to go over my gloves and then cinch down. The removable powder skirt is also a great option. I have removed the skirt and hood and worn the Jacket in town on cold days. I will not do this very often since I do not want to wear out this jacket. The pit zips are easy to use and big enough to dump heat, etc. The pine cone logo in red on the black jacket is another nice touch. Cons -- I have not encountered any yet while wearing the Jacket. This Jacket and the Shot 7 I purchased have resulted in the retirement of my other down jackets from Patagonia -- likely to go to my son in law. I highly recommend this jacket.

- Great down jacket! Review by Nick
Love It Scale Value Quality
My girlfriend got this for me and I love it. Large fits well 6'2 200lbs. Super warm and comfy and made from durable fabric unlike some of the other brands I've had. A good all around mtn jacket for the cold days and built tough enough to use for work and play. Good pocket placement and am keen on the pit zips. I highly recommend this jacket.
