great jacket in all conditions Review by pete

Purchased the snotel jacket in early March on sale. East coast skier, so skied it the rest of the year til May 1 in below 0 to 55 degrees with varying layers under and various pit zip positions. From cold, windy, snow, wind blown snow, drizzle and rain to warm sun, hood up, hood down, to hiking a few runs. Very breathable which for me works great. Light weight shell jacket for all skiing conditions, just layer it up as needed. I usually wear medium and medium fit was perfect for me. 6 foot, 150 lbs.Simple, smart design. Great job Stio. I'd buy a second one in a minute. Maybe the orange !

In town to dawn patrol mission essentials Review by bdogg62

Need an outer layer that vents and breaths well for the pre work dawn patrol or that perfect layer for in town later on; the Snotel Jacket is a solid pick. Minimalist in features it stuffs well in the pack when touring taking up very little valued space. Layered over a fleece or down insulator and it's perfect for all missions whether urban or on the skin track. The Snotel is my number one pick and as such has placement of honor on the hooks by the front door.

I really like this jacket, but for its purpose don't love it Review by pablo90245

i should state up front that i bought two of these this year. i wanted one for snow skiing /snowboarding as a spring or lighter weight jacket. i'd say that it will be a great april jacket, but it is not good for windy winter weather. so for warm spring days, perfect. (and the reason i have two is that i have one at home for showers or cooler days to just throw on). if you're looking for a good three season jacket that is somewhat but definitely not windproof, it's a lovely jacket. (it stuffs down to nearly nothing, too)N

A true backcountry hardshell. Superlite, awesome breathability, great cut for an outer layer. Eastcoast blizzard conditions for the first test, 1/23 and 1/24 2016. Stopped 40 plus mile winds and shed snow like parchment paper. Seems to regulate temps better than gore products.

Great Light Jacket Review by WyoRumrunner

This class of jacket is excellent for light weight touring, packabiliy, breathability, and comfort. Stio's addition hits all of these marks then elevates, a quality build, and style points. The pumpkin orange is visible without being too in your face. The jacket leaves little to be desired, until it gets so deep or nasty you will need the Environ jacket.

Terrific jacket -- tried out in the wilds of NYC Review by Pablo

Bought this as my goto shell for this winter in the mountains. Just took it on a trip to NYC and it was a perfect shell against the cold, wind and some rain. Fits perfectly, love the pockets and it should prove to be an ideal back and side country jacket and for in bounds skiing. Glad I got it on sale during Thanksgiving. A bit pricey.

I have used the Snotel jacket for both up-hill and down-hill and it is great. Very light but does what heavier shells do just as well. Will have it on tomorrow as we in Northern UT enjoy our second good powder day of the week. I have a size L Environ jacket and this one in L seems a bit bigger in every dimension.

Love the fit. It is a bit roomy to layer under and the arm length is long enough to allow full mobility without the body shifting around. Very lightweight, super breathable, huge pit zips, and a bold color to be seen in the backcountry. I plan to use this as a 3 (maybe 4) season piece.
