great shirt
Review by Ann

I love this shirt and compliment my husband overtime he wears it. He is a solid medium in this shirt and it looks so nice with a great pair of jeans and untucked. I finally ordered him the last color that he didn't have! He has worn this downhill skiing as a layer to cut the wind. These shirts are pricey but worth it for sure.

great shirt for the PNW
Review by greenmitch

My husband has two of these shirts. They are perfect for the PNW. He wears them with a a light wool t-shirt underneath for work and for the weekend and loves them. He has worn it also as a mid layer for skiing. The colors are great, the fit is true to size. Waiting for these to go on sale so I can purchase him a third one!

quality and Feel: 5 star, Fit: 2 Star
Review by DJB

I really like this shirt, but the fit is ridiculous. I am a medium (5'8" 165# 40" chest) and wear a medium shirt. Stio made a perfect fit medium in their Crestor soft shell shirt, however the Kirby medium has incredibly short sleeves (and yes I tried a large, I swim in it). Why so short Stio? Its even worse when you put a pack on. That said, I still love this shirt. great wind and water resistance, feel and quality are fantastic, just... make longer sleeves. -Not an orangutan, just a regular guy with normal size shoulders and normal length arms.

Fantastic product!

Love the snaps! Great quality button down that can be worn for any activity. I'd love to see more colors.

Great fabric and color's. Too tight across my upper back..
Review by Gunkholin

Great fabric and color's! Too tight fit across my upper back. Might install some gussets to alleviate tightness. Doesn't seem like a true XL..

Love it
Review by Vince

This shirt is true to size, the fit and length are great I can wear it tucked in or out and it doesn't feel like I'm swimming in it. I love the pattern and look of the snaps, I have worn it a few times and had numerous complements. I can't wait to get out on the slopes with it!

Quality feel, great pattern
Review by Eric F.

So far so good. Can't wait to make this one a travel / outdoor staple, but right now I'm just wearing it at work (literally, right now). Part of me prefers a bit more of a fitted shirt, but it's not so loose that I hesitate grabbing it in the morning. I assume it's a bit looser because it's meant to be worn in active pursuits. One thing I'm confused by: At the time of this posting, the description on the website says there is an interior stash pocket. I might be blind, but I can't find any interior pocket on this shirt. May be a mistake on the site description. Still a nice shirt.

The Only True Windshirt
Review by REDUX6

Stio was smart enough to understand that a garment that sheds wind and breathes serves a different purpose than the multitude of lightweight jackets that are made with coated fabrics to resist rain that are supposed to breathe but do not. There are many occasions while walking on a Maine island that I need a wind barrier when there's no precipitation around. The Kirby shirt does the trick. Actually, I'll also wear it as a top layer when sailing on a sunny day. A great product. Bravo, Stio!

Great shirt...ordered larger size...
Review by Bigruckus

Took a chance on this..it was a great sale and I had no other size to get but the XXL..I have a 45-46 chest..thought I would try the XXL size.....I read somewhere else that the size was a little snug....WELL..it worked out for me..the shirt fits me perfect. The shirt is a little lose around the base but I tuck my tale sin most of the time..the shirt does have some length to it. I really like the soft tones of red in the shirt..wish I could get another one in a different color. I like the feel of it without a t-shirt. I really like the Stio line-up..this was my 5th item..all the items are well made and look great....oh I will be back.

Like the clothing
Review by Mch

Really like the Kirby shirt. Fits a bit small compared to other XL shirts.

A wind shirt that feels good!
Review by AP

You know how some wind shirts feel nylon-y - too slick? This shirt has no shine, it looks like a woven fabric and has a nice hand. It is cut so you can move in it - hiking up to ski down is no problem in this shirt. Love the orange color and the recipient of this gift liked the details!

Top Notch!
Review by SkiPatrolMD

Great shirt for all around conditions. Have used it as a layering piece mountain biking during cool mornings or throw it on top after a good day of skiing. I've bought 2 because I love them so much!

It's Awesome
Review by ScubaDoc

The Kirby Windshirt is comfortable and stylish--Material is great, much softer and less stiff than expected. Numerous people complimented me the first few times I wore it. Love it.

Own two. Wear them everywhere.
Review by Alex

These shirts are fantastic.! They have wicked mountain style with snaps and a secret pocket and yet are formal enough to wear to a nice dinner date. I love them as a base layer for spring skiing in Jackson and spring hiking in California. They wick moisture away very effectively and with the snap of a button and a roll of the sleeve they are as cool as a t-shirt.

Great, versatile shirt!
Review by Brad

This shirt is stylish yet functional. Whatever your outdoor activity might be (mountain biking, spring skiing, camping, fishing), this shirt is great for variable conditions and finishing your day at a brewery.

Great For Adventure/Travel/Minilamist Travel; Less So For Truly Blocking Wind
Review by Will

I took the Kirby shirt with me to India over January with the intent to use it as an outer layer while driving an auto-rickshaw for a few weeks along the western coast. It definitely is rugged, looks good, fails to wrinkle, sheds small amounts of water and sometimes fear all while being stuffed into back seats and duffels being reliably wearable time and time again. I loved these aspects. As for its wind breaking ability, I was a bit let down, even while layering with the Basis shirt underneath. In warm temperatures where I could walk around in a t-shirt I was still consistently cold while wearing both the Kirby and Basis shirts at a maximum speed of 60km. I eventually switched to a a light rain shell over my Basis shirt as a wind stopper. If the material were a bit thicker it might block the wind more effectively but that is a personal opinion.
Overall, if I were to buy another Kirby shirt I'd do so adding it to my go-to for general travel gear, but not outright for its wind breaking ability.

Colorful Comfort
Review by JensenRanch

This shirt pops!

It runs true to size, is comfortable & looks great!

While it's not a true "windstopper" fabric, the fabric is woven tightly & of a fabric that does a nice job of minimizing bulk, while still serving as a performance garment, all the while looking ready for a seat at the base run tavern.

Love it
Review by middleagedwhiteguy

This thing is great. Period. Awesome colors, solid construction, and broad functionality. At least as good as Patagonia, but fits a grown-up body. I'm 5'10", 180, with broad shoulders and chest, and the large fits well. Sleeves and hem fall right where they should, wasn't patterned for an orangutan, and still looks neat untucked. Slam-dunk, no brainer, buy one.

Design, craftsmanship, and style are all quality.
Review by Sam H

I've been perusing the Stio collection for about six months because they have struck a balance between clothing that exudes a comfortable style while employing the use of technical fabrics that excel in a wide range of conditions and situations.

The design elements of the piece, whether it's the classic plaid pattern, the pearl snap buttons, or the hidden stowaway pocket are all done exquisitely. That design then flows seamlessly into the production of the garment which is of exceptional quality. Bar tacks at key stress points, the use of perfectly executed flat felled seams, a lack of loose thread ends, and the precision match up of the fabric pattern from one fabric panel to another all show an attention to detail lacking in many manufacturers.

Although the cost of the item is on the high side and I feel that must be commented on it is clear that the cost is not wholly unwarranted when the design and construction mentality of the product is taken into consideration. Price is only a minor complaint as the garment will clearly be of high quality and high value for years to come.

Great
Review by Uncle Dan

This is by far the best shirt I have, it is now the first pick in my closet. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge or the Pacific Crest Trail this shirt works for me. Thanks
