A mountain town staple
Review by KK

Coming from the east coast this was the best investment I could've made living in a mountain town. This keeps everything warm on stinging cold mornings and essentially feels like you're wearing a sleeping bag. Highly recommend this as a winter parka for when you need more coverage than a standard jacket.

Well made, very light but warm
Review by Happy

I love this coat. It is very light & the fabric feels smooth & soft. It's surprisingly warm, especially given how light it is-- & is the perfect size: covers your butt but you can walk & bike freely. It might not work without extra layers in temperatures below 20 degrees or so but it's perfect for weather from 20-50 or so.

It's a bit pricey, even on sale, but you get a really good quality coat.

The best
Review by Lindsay

Taken from an email I sent to Stio the day i got my coat:

I just wanted to tell you all that I received my parka today. It has been brutally cold in New England recently and walking my dog, going to the grocery store - basically existing- has been painful. My coat is so warm and making me so happy. It has legitimately changed my attitude about going back to work and riding out this winter.

Thank you! I hope you all have a fantastic year. I am a big Stio fan and work at a boarding school - I will continue to spread the Stio word!

Warm and light
Review by Juliet

Love the coat. Only thing is the gray is much lighter than online. Don't love the color. I was hoping for more of a gun metal gray.

Love this jacket!
Review by Bonnie Reimann

Stio might just be my new favorite brand for outdoor gear! I brought this coat to Chicago for a December weekend and it was perfect! It's just the right length and toasty warm. I'm 5'10", 140 lbs and the large fits perfectly. Highly recommend!

Love my new coat
Review by Cindy

I’ve had my eye on this coat now for 2 years and finally broke down and purchased it with 20% off. It’s very nice and light weight although not as warm as I’d hoped but warmer than my Fiona from Patagonia. I love the length, the adjustable hood and the sleeves that are a little tighter and longer. I’m glad I decided to purchase this lovely coat.

The perfect parka
Review by Marie

I have been shopping for a while for a warm winter jacket that is light weight. I also wanted it to keep my bootie warm. It's amazing and also flattering!

Great, best light weight down coat I've worn
Review by from NH

The differentiating aspect of this coat is it weight. It is so light, but warm. It is very well made as well. Ziper and hood design is fantastic. I appreciate all the little things Stio does to create a well made product and think of things I never would have. They do make a difference. I find this coat perfect for around town when I am in and out of the car, in and out of buildings, etc.. Excellent for travel, even when you have to look snappy. If it is below 20 (NH 20) or so and blowing, and I am watching a ski race or walking the dog, I'll likely grab a coat with a wind-proof layer. With that said, this is my 80% coat -- 80% of the time, it is just right for the situation.

Winter necessity
Review by Madison - Staff

I run very cold, and couldn't get through the winter with this parka. Flattering cut, furnace warmth. Around the rink, to and from yoga, stashed in the car for the end of a long, cold training run, every day errands and commute. It's a necessity!

I love this parka
Review by Love Winter

I have been looking for quite a while for a long down parka. I looked at the usual brands north face and Patagonia and this Stio parka is the best!
Warm without bulk and very compressible. It looks cute and feels great on, I love the soft lining next to my face and in pockets!
5'6 and 130 I usually wear a medium but the small fits perfectly!

Great winter jacket
Review by Sharon

I was surprised to see how thin it was, but it is very warm. It makes a great dog walking coat. I gave it 5 stars on value because I got it on sale.

True Love
Review by Amy

I am absolutely in love with this parka! It's super stylish, flattering and warm, without being bulky. I am 5'7" and 130 and bough a medium. It fits great even with a fleece under it. Sleeve length is just right.
I have worn it every single day since I bought it. I've had my eye on it all season, I hesitated because it looked bulky in the pictures, but it isn't at all. It's a must for cold winter days!

Don't want to take it off
Review by Christy

This is my favorite puffy jacket ever. Its so soft and silky feeling, sometimes when I get home I don't want to take it off. Its perfectly fitted for a flattering look. You can wear this jacket out to nice restaurants and parties, as well as to a sport event or casual outdoor get together.

Love it
Review by Aussie Jen

Although expensive, especially when you add on the extra dollars to covert to the Aussie, I love the length and colour. It is very lightweight and yet so warm. As for durability time will tell. It has a timelessness in it's styling though, so let's hope I'll be wearing it in 5 years time.

Fav winter parka
Review by Janelle

I was on the fence about this jacket when I saw it online, but with the free shipping/free returns, I decided to go for it - I'm so glad I did! This has quickly become my favorite winter parka (in fact, I got rid of the other down parka in my closet). It's somehow light and simultaneously the warmest, most comfortable parka in my jacket. It's not as bulky as most women's down jackets; I don't feel like a marshmallow or worry about knocking into things when I'm walking around tight corners. The fleece accents around the chin/hood are a perfect touch, as are the long and slightly angled sleeves.
I can't recommend it enough! I'm 6', about 140 lb. and ordered a small - it fits just right, with the ability to wear bulkier items, such as hooded sweatshirts, underneath.

Perfect for harsh winters
Review by cm

Living in Chicago, the winters can be life-threateningly cold if you're not outfitted in appropriate outerwear. This parka has managed to keep my torso completely warm even in subzero wind chills. The one thing I'm not entirely crazy about is the double zippers -- sometimes it comes unzipped at the bottom randomly, but if you pull down the bottom zipper as far as it can go it's usually not a problem. The warmth and overall coziness are well worth the money.

So light, but so warm! Great for a range of weather conditions
Review by Darcy

I love this coat! I really debated between this and something slimmer fitting, but I am so glad I went with this. It is not slim fitting, but still looks very nice and not bulky. I have worn it in 35 degrees and raining in the PNW to 0 degrees and snowing in Utah. I really don't want to wear anything else. It is surprisingly comfortable even in the warmer/rainier conditions of Oregon (and has been water resistant in fairly steady rain conditions) and yet kept me so toasty in very cold temperatures. I love the fleece lined pockets, the hood is fitted well so it stays on my head, and it is a great length. I feel like it is true to size and I can wear my normal size over layers with no problem. Highly recommended!

Awesome and Sexy!!!
Review by backpackingmom

This parka just rocks! Finally got my first Stio jacket and I am soooo happy with it! First of all, it is not a boxy cut, but has a sexy shape to it - seriously, this parka is Austin Powers Sexy! Secondly, it is so light and warm you will never want to take it off. I wore it the first day in downtown Bozeman and heads were turning (uh, they were looking at the parka not me as I am too old to turn heads haha) - It is so well made and so worth the price. As for sizing, I usually get a medium in most jackets, but the Stio staff recommended a small and they were right on. I am 5" 3' and 130 lbs, and a 36C-D (yeah chest size is important for jackets as this is usually why I have to size up). Anyways, if you are thinking about buying this jacket, don't hesitate! It is amazing! Thank you Stio!

Great coat at a good price
Review by Backie

Got this at the end of last season on sale - so just using it now. Love it! Wore it the other night - cold, damp and windy Chicago - to walk around the zoo lights. All warm and snuggly. Fits nicely also - beautiful quality.

Great Coat
Review by ACNJ

Great coat! It is light weight, fitted, and warm. The length is perfect and the elastic waist bands keep the wind from going up the sleeve. The hood has a pull string which enables you to tighten it.

Amazing and Sexy!!!!
Review by Judy

All I can say is WOW! - This parka is awesome. The cut is so flattering and even a bit sexy if I dare say :) It is not a boxy cut. The sleeves have an inner elastic that keeps a nice fit on your wrists. The parka is very lightweight yet super warm. The pockets have a cozy lining too. Now about sizing. I am thankful for Stio customer service as they recommended a size small as this parka runs a bit on the larger size. They were right on! For the record I am 5' 3", 130 lbs, (and 36 C-D - yes this is important to note!) Usually, when I get a small jacket, it is a little tight in the chest area - this one is perfect sizing for me. Enough room for a mid layer if you need it. I just tested it out in Bozeman, MT and I was super warm and cozy. It was great walking downtown sporting my new Stio parka - Thanks Stio!!!!! Now I just need one of everything you have and I will be a happy girl ;)

Warmth!
Review by Katelyn - Staff

The parka is perfect for a Jackson resident or city dweller. It blocks the wind and keeps every part of you warm. It's also a down jacket that still keeps a nice flattering shape. Runs a bit big unlike some of Stio's other items so you may want to consider sizing down if you are in between sizes!

Looks great, feels warm and lightweight.
Review by Liza T - Staff

This jacket is soft and lightweight, but with a length to provide extra coverage on brisk days waiting for the bus in the mountains or the city! Feels like you're wearing a sleeping bag, but doesn't look like it! If you're not new to the HTD Collection, I think you are safe going with the same size as the HTD Jacket or Vest. I think it'll also look a little more dressed up this Holiday over dresses.

Fantastic coat - especially for the sale price
Review by Elaine

Bought this hesitently - as it was a final sale. So glad I took the chance. While I cannot attest to the warmth or long term quality of it - thankfully Chicago is done with that weather for at least a few months - my initial try on is very positive.
Great length, nice color - so sick of black down coats and lots of little quality features. Not quite as slimming as some Arctryx or Nua products I have - but for the price - UNBEATABLE!

Keeps her super warm, great design.
Review by For the wife

I bought this jacket for my wife because she always takes my jackets when I am not at home. She really wanted one long enough to cover her backside. The hometown hooded parka fir the bill and she loves it, especially the finishing touches, like the soft interior near her chin. Thanks for making such high quality gear.

Great Loft, yet not too Bulky
Review by GeriL

I ordered a medium but slightly small with anything underneath. Large, slightly too large but better roomy than snug. I love the soft lofty feel of this jacket, warm and snuggly.

Light and Warm
Review by MK

AFter a few years of cheaper down coats that have breaking zippers or too much Flair, this was a welcome relief. The lightweight of this coat is incredible considering how warm it can be. I have worn it almost every day since I got it. Live in chicago, go on lots of cold dog walks, and am in and out of the car. I am a skier, but this is more of a town coat. Some of the features I like are the reverse zipper on the bottom of the coat, to open the bottom for sitting, driving, etc, the elastic cuff at the wrists to keep out the cold, and the cozy fleece of the neck, which zips all the way up to my chin, so no scarf needed.
If only one layer underneath, and it's windy, my arms can get cold, so a shell is needed for really cold and windy temps.
Also, the cell phone pocket is difficult to get the phone into with one hand.
I'm happy with the coat overall.

I love this coat!
Review by Karen

I am an XS and not everything fits me, especially in outerwear. But this coat fits just perfectly! Quality and excellent workmanship is readily apparent. Nice and toasty warm! The length is just perfect, falling somewhere between my hips and knees and therefore longer than the average jacket but not too long for everyday activity! I love this coat!
