 Ambassador Spotlight: Keely Kelleher

Last month, we highlighted our partnership with Keely's Camps For Girls. Now it's time to meet the woman behind it all: our ambassador Keely Kelleher. Keely transitioned into the world of big mountain skiing after a successful career on the U.S. Ski Team and a national Super G title in 2010. She now uses her skills on skis to run her own business, Keely's Camps For Girls. Her mission is to empower, inspire, educate and connect the next generation of girls in skiing and teach them knowledgable and useful skills for navigating in and around the mountains.

Keely's official ambassador spotlight video will be coming in January 2019. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, read on for a quick Q&A with Keely on skiing, coaching, and living.

Where are the three coolest places your ski career has taken you to?

1) Cortina, Italy - this is the Kitzbuhel of the Women's World Cup with amazing views, espresso, and an intimidating downhill track.

2) Mt. Hood, Oregon - this mountain was the starting place of Keely's Camp and without it I would have never started a business.

3) Montana and Wyoming! I grew up in Montana and now live in the Tetons. Sometimes I don't know why I travel to ski anywhere else. We have it so good here!

What’s the most rewarding part of coaching your camps?

I feel like I am involved in something bigger than myself. I have the opportunity to work with the best female coaches and guides in our industry to propel the next generation of girls to empowerment and success. My job rules!

How are you altering the current narrative of female representation in the mountains and in big mountain skiing?

Education! We work so hard at Keely's Camp to not only provide girls with powerful role models, but to help them think critically about their natural surroundings and their relationships with other girls. Simply getting girls to support each other changes the narrative of what it means to be female. I think we are on a positive path.
