PFAS are human-made chemicals used as a finishing substance for their superior water-resistance on all kinds of common household items and consumer products, including the coatings on ski jackets or rain shells. Dubbed “forever chemicals” because they take so long to break down, these toxic chemicals can pollute our air, waterways, soil and even our bodies.
As a company that exists to deepen our connection with the outdoors, we feel a strong responsibility to care for the environment and our customers. This is why we're taking action to replace these forever chemicals in our product line by adopting new technologies and sourcing alternative, water-repellent fabrics and coating substances.
You can learn more about PFAS, our shift away from these chemicals, and how to care for your PFAS-free gear by reading our press release and garment care article.
