he loves it!
Review by Hope

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband and he wore it multiple days in a row over our holiday break. The fit is really nice and he loves the shirt - it is very warm but a great weight. I think he might end up with another color, he likes it so much!

Irresistible
Review by KLW

I bought this shirt for our son; it was on his Christmas list. He put it on immediately upon opening, and later took a run in it...and apparently has worn it every day since. I know! It's a problem, according to his wife. So we need to check out similar styles in other colors for his upcoming birthday.

Favorite Shirt Jac
Review by Sadge

It took me a long time to buy this, because the price was so high, but the 10% discount made me bite, and I would pay full price now. The synthetic/wool blend makes the material much more versatile that a cotton flannel, and it breathes very well. Love the "reflecting pond" blue color. The only criticism I could make is that the material pills a little, but not enough to really bother me. I wear this piece so much in the cooler season, that my gf calls it my "uniform." :)

Amazing Shirt - Just Bought Another
Review by JohnnyG

I love this shirt! 5'12" 190lbs the Large fits me perfectly tucked in or untucked. This thing is durable and travels amazingly well. Throw it in a duffle for a long weekend in the mountains or flood it I your suitcase for a casual night out in a business trip and it's ready to go. Machine washed and dried my many times and it's looks like the day I opened it. It's pretty pricy but I don't mind paying for something I'll wear over and over again!

Comfortable and practical
Review by bloomy

I use this as mostly a wear around shirt as it's comfortable, soft and looks sharp. However, the wool/poly blend would make this a great layer for spring skiing, backcountry and resort, or any summer mountain activity.

I really like this shirt - And so do others as I have received some compliments on it. I'm 6'2, 205 and the large is perfect.

Great Shirt
Review by Steve

Some folks may remember the old chamois shirt, a great outdoor piece that kept you pretty warm, except when it got wet. The Basis shirt is the next evolutionary step beyond the old chamois, a polyester wool blend that can be worn alone or layered, that's soft, and has just enough wool to keep you warm whether you're paddling on a cold day, or shooting clays in March. It works even when wet. An excellent, bombproof shirt that I'll be wearing a lot.

Great fit, great feel
Review by chi-town

I was worried it would be heavy and wool rough to the skin. it was terrific...warm enough to serve as a great base and soft enough to the touch to be comfortable and a great lounge shirt too...

Great shirt
Review by JB

Love the fit, material, functionality and style. Hard to tell the quality of these shirts from online photos, as with most shirts. I've gotten a few compliments about it already too. Can wear skiing, to the gym or out to dinner. Jah bless!

Handsome and Versatile
Review by Eduardo

I use this shirt for moderately rigorous activities in the Pacific Northwest: chopping wood, working in the shop, lifting microbrews with the windsurfing and kayaking tribes. The material is on the lighter side of mid weight, flexible with a quality finish. The material has a mild wool feel so I wear it layered, on the town with a cotton tee. In this application it is as warm as mid weight flannel but not as warm as light weight technical jackets that zip and have breathable liners. The design and execution are old school quality; I have received several compliments, touches, and inquiries when wearing it.

Review by Matty

Received your Stio Men's Basis Power Dry Shirt yesterday. I LOVE IT!!! It will be great skiing but even better using it as I am today……just bumming around. Gonna try it out Fat Biking later today. I will be ordering more. First Stio product and I can assure you will not be the last. Outstanding quality! Hoping I can stop by your shop in JH when we fly in and go over to Grand Targhee in a couple of months.

Excellant multi-purpose shirt
Review by Steve

As advertised, this shirt functions very well as an around-town, outdoorsy-stylish and comfortable shirt, and as a technical layer for skiing or other activities.

The Best
Review by anonymous

I bought shirt as a gift for my partner and one for my daughters partner. It is fabulous!!! Great feel, great look, easy care, so stretchy that one can wear it and feel no restrictions.

Comfortable
Review by Andy D

Everything in the description of the shirt screamed buy me, except the price. After a bit of deliberation, I succumbed, and am very glad I did. The shirt fits very comfortably, not tight, not baggy. I'm about 6'1" -215 and the large is perfect.

The fabric drapes very well, and has that wool weight and heft to it that is surprising given its only 25% wool. I've only used it so far as an overshirt around the house, but am looking forward to using it as a layer for more athletic endeavors. If the price were lower, I would definitely own more than one.

The Missing Link!
Review by Dan H

I love this shirt as a base layer. It's great on its own, or with a lightweight layer underneith it. So far i've used it on an excursion to Canyonlands in UT, and spring fishing in WY. It's peformed great on cold spring days on the water and desert morning hikes. It has also been great to sleep in it on those chilly nights in the mummy bag.

My Favorite
Review by LB (Staff)

I can honestly say that this is my favorite piece from our Fall/ Winter collection. Aesthetically, it looks like a clean, old fashioned wool shirt, but technically it performs as well as any base layer I've ever had. It feels great both next-to-skin, and with a t-shirt underneath. The best!!

The Mountain Man's go-to
Review by Sulli-Staff

I'm a bit biased...but this style is honestly now a constant in my year-round wardrobe. Comfortable, durable, stylish, and functional this is the technical outdoor version of an old classic chamois shirt, but more stylish and versatile. From use as a baselayer while skiing to a campfire on a chilly beach night, the Basis rocks!

Versatile + Sharp
Review by Graham S.

Got the Basis Shirt a week or so ago and its been worn all over the place so far. As intended, its easy to throw on and go...whether that's to dinner or the mountains.

Solid West Coast/mountain feel to it that would fit in at the bar, river or mountain.

Notes:

* I'm 5'10 ~165 pounds and found the Large too big and the medium just right. Don't see it shrinking either because its polyester based...
