Manufacturing & Sourcing
Stio apparel is designed, developed and tested in Jackson, Wyoming. Each style is specified to meeting the highest standards of quality and performance in the outdoor industry and then manufactured utilizing the finest factory partners in the world.
How Our Products Are Made
Stio® manufactures products in the USA, Canada, China, El Salvador, and Vietnam. We currently use textiles sourced from the USA, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Portugal, China, Brazil, El Salvador, Taiwan, and Korea. We work with cutting edge textile mills such as Polartec®, schoeller® and Toray®, which are among the most sophisticated and advanced mills operating in the apparel business. We continually strive to source environmentally friendly textiles, many of which are BlueSign® approved and contain high levels of recycled content.
Ensuring Compliance With Our Standards
Our manufacturing partners are people that we know and trust. We've not only been working together for years to build apparel, but we also spend time with them outside of the workplace.
To ensure standards are maintained, we review and sign a detailed Stio® Vendor Standards and Compliance Manual with our manufacturing partners annually. We conduct scheduled and unannounced audits of our partner factories. We make personal visits an average of 2-4x per year, as well as employ an experienced quality control firm to conduct inspections to ensure compliance.
100% of Stio's Down is RDS Certified
We obsess over the fabrics, materials and construction that make up our products, and our use of responsibly sourced HyperDry™ water repellant down is a manifestation of that obsession. It's certified as coming from a transparent, audited supply chain, with an emphasis on the humane treatment of animals. Built with only the best, we’re proud that 100% of all Stio down products meet the Responsible Down Standard.
