Great quality but too long for shorter person
Review by Anonymous

Love the quality of this jacket but had to return it. I am 5' 3" and 105 lbs. Bought a small thinking I could layer it. However, it was so long, it looked frumpy. Tried an XS on in a store and that one looked a bit better for fit, but was so slim I didn't have room for even my vest under it comfortably. I really wanted this to work, but the fit was not right for me.

Nice jacket, but ended up returning
Review by Liz

All the positive reviews here are spot on. I ended up returning this jacket however because I felt the collar didn't come up very high and it was a bit restrictive once I got on a down sweater and neck warmer. The collar on my Flylow Betty down jacket came up higher than the collar on the Stio jacket and it looked a little weird. Also worried I wouldn't be able to bury my face in there on cold New England chair lift rides.

yes!!! finally own an environ jacket. great quality and color. good pockets and zippers.
feels good parading around my living room, looking forward to testing on the slopes!!
color and fit good. Stio does a true women's medium, no need to do a large if you have muscular shoulders or arms.

Split Pea
Review by Amanda

Lovely jacket but not for me ... beautifully made but on my small frame there was just to much extra length in the sleeves. The split pea color was great and I really wish this jacket was a winner for me but unfortunately I had to send it back.

Great Jacket
Review by Sperrycamp

I wear this jacket skiing in bounds as well as touring and I LOVE it. I am 5 tall and weigh about 100 pounds. The XS fits a little large on me, which Is fine because I have room to layer up on super cold days.

Excellent jacket
Review by Kathy E

I bought this jacket before a trip to Whistler in March. I have never worn just a shell. It was great. I wore a couple of layers underneath. Unzipped the arm pit zips a couple of times. Skied in the rain most days at the bottom of the mountain and snow at the top. Loved the waist band powder skirt and the wind was never a problem. Highly recommend this jacket. Great colors as well.

Awesome jacket
Review by Christy

This jacket is good looking and functional in both the backcountry and on the ski mountain. I usually wear one of Stio's small insulation jackets underneath for extra warmth. Its not cheap, but its so well made and will last for years if you'd like. Just a great classic ski jacket.

Love it
Review by AL

This is the best jacket I have owned. It breaths well and is very wind/ weather protective. I was a little hesitant because of the cost but I wear it so often for back country activities and around the town that I don't mind- worth the money. I bought a M to be able to layer. I am 5'5" and 125 lbs. It is roomy without being baggy.

lightweight, efficient outer layer
Review by cm

I personally would not recommend wearing only a single layer, everyday shirt under this if your goal is to keep out harsh cold. Having said that, this does a phenomenal job as a lightweight shell when layered over any type of warmer/thicker base layer. Perfect for anyone who doesn't necessarily want to be weighed down by a heavy winter coat.

Perfect
Review by KH

I bought this jacket for my girlfriend for Xmas. She is ~5'6'' and ~115lbs and the Medium fits her PERFECTLY. You seriously could not have custom-tailored a better, more flattering fit. The fit is athletic and shaped, but not too tight or restrictive, and is super cute. The finish is nice, softer and more comfortable than your standard cardboardish 3-layer Gore Tex jacket. A couple other nice touches: the comfy, soft tricot lining inside the entire collar (not just the zipper flap like most other jackets) and the zippered sleeves are a nice change from clunky velcro wrist cinches. The slightly longer sleeve covers just enough of the top hand to provide a little more protection but is still short enough to stay out of the way of the fingers. She hasn't put it through the wringer yet, so we haven't tested the durability or it's storm capabilities, but so far it's a home run right out of the box!

Women's Environ Jacket
Review by Birdie

Love this jacket it was beautiful well made great fabric. The only problem was I was told it ran small so I ordered a large and it was large on me so I ordered a medium and it was a lot smaller and felt tight. Really a difference in the sizes. I was sad to have to send it back.

Finally found it!
Review by Jen C

I have been looking for a new ski jacket for about eight years and finally found one that meets everything I was looking for. I really loved my old jacket but the color was so drab and dull -- the last time I was on a lift with my husband and two strangers, one of the strangers asked him "how old is your little guy?" My search continued that weekend. I saw a quick spot on TV about Stio, looked up the website and saw the Environ jacket. It seemed right and I couldn't believe the value (jackets I was looking at were double the price). When I tried it on at home I was so happy. The material is soft and lightweight but tough and with room to layer when I need to for skiing in the damp, cold Northeast. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test it on the hill yet but I know it will be great. Now I have to order the pants!

A Jacket for the Elements
Review by Ski Town Skier CSW

I've had my Environ Jacket for just about a month now. Steamboat's diverse (and very snowy) January 2014 weather provided for perfect product testing conditions.

Very Cold, Windy and Snowing: Sizing ( I’m 5’6’” @ 125 lbs. got the medium) is just right for a insulated down layer; hood is sized appropriately for helmet coverage; fabric keeps the wind out even at zipper locations; stayed warm and dry on some of the coldest days of the season.

Backcountry Adventures: Fabric breathes very well with underarm vents easy to access with gloves on - I can keep wearing the Environ longer while hiking/skinning; alternatively, jacket rolls up nice and compact taking up a small space in pack; pack straps slide easily on and off; so far no abrasion of the fabric with pack use.

Mid-20’s (with and without wind) On-mountain Skiing (day and night skiing): Hood detaches easily; breathable fabric permits body temp regulation (not too hot, not too cold); sizing allows for ability to layer for the conditions while maintaining stylish fit.

Color, style and fit: I received numerous compliments and inquiries about my jacket. I’m always happy to let people know how well Stio designed the Women’s Environ Jacket. The soft “hand” of the outer fabric, the stream-lined sleeve closures (no velcro-yea); no powder skirt necessary = less bulk (hem cord locks keep powder out); plenty of pockets; fit and style is spot on; and love that it’s made in North America too. This is the 1st of more Stio purchases to come. Thanks!

REALLY nice ski jacket
Review by BR

This coat is so well made and the attention to detail clear in every aspect. Nice fit over layers, and while light-weight it is just bullet proof. Bundled up with the hood over my helmet during a stormy day on the mountain, and stayed nice and cozy.

Enrivo jacket for all environments
Review by CM

Since purchasing my jacket, I haven't put another ski jacket on, except for the Hometown Down Jacket, which happens to fit really nicely under the Enviro Jacket when its cold out.

It fits and performs so well that I've been using it for both on mountain and backcountry skiing days. Perfect women's fit, quality zippers, and durable fabric, yet stuffs in the backpack without being to heavy or bulking.

Environ Excellent Ski Parka
Review by Joe

I bought the Stio Environ ski parka for my wife. Both she and I have older Cloudveil RPK jackets, which are excellent. When shopping for an update, the RPK didn’t seem to be available. One of the founders of Cloudveil is now with Stio and we have found the new Environ jacket to be a near perfect ski parka. It does everything that the RPK does, but it is lighter, more flexible and has equal if not superior craftsmanship. Sizing is correct, identical to the RPK but with a more tailored fit my wife prefers. I found the service at Stio to be outstanding, as an understatement. I recommend the Environ jacket and the company.

Perfect Jacket For All Seasons
Review by rocker2

I debated getting an insulated jacket this year but every time I tried them on I felt like a stuffed marshmallow. The Women's Environ Jacket shell has an amazingly beautiful cut that is shaped for a woman's figure. It nips and tucks in all the right places but is still a full-on, heavy-duty performer as a wind and water stopper.

On my first day out with this jacket on a 25 degree day, I wore a base layer with a wool 1/4 zip and was comfortable the entire day. It's also roomy enough to layer a down sweater underneath for really cold days. The helmet-compatible hood is a great feature for blustery days and a life saver on the chairlift.

Sweet and simple, this jacket is a winner on and off the slopes!

Ski, hike, or wear around town
Review by JD

I wore the Environ ski shell just about every day I skied this year and it held up to everything Jackson Hole could dish out. It breathed well on sunny spring days and kept me dry on the nastiest blower days. Layering is always tricky when you are skiing, but the Environ is forgiving because it adapts to changing temps. Now that the slopes are closed, this is still my go-to when the cold/wet weather comes in. The modern color and tailored details translate well off the slopes.

Review by NM

I bought this coat for skiing, and it is perfect for all my outdoor activities. As a shell it keeps me protected from the wind and is roomy enough to wear layers under (but not look baggy). It is perfect for year round activities since I can throw it over anything. Light, comfortable, practical and nice-looking!
