Great Coat
Review by Bscho

Love the coat. I am 5' 1" and weigh in at 110lbs. Bought the XS in the Bright Blue. Perfect sizing. For once the sleeves were not over my hands. I love the color I bought but it was really by a process of elimination. The other colors I think were pretty drab. I just got back from Montana and used it every day while there. Very happy with the purchase.

Crazy weather? No problem!
Review by Augusta Zoe

I’ve been looking for this style of jacket for a while and when I read all the positive reviews, I decided to get this one. I really love it, it’s perfect for crazy weather days when you leave the house in the morning in one season and come back at night in an entirely different season. It came with a small carry bag which looks like I can stuff the jacket in if I take it on a trip. I love the Ibiza blue color, it’s the right type of sporty and feminine without being too much of either and not a color everyone else has. It’s also a color that makes me happy. I’m 5’3, 120 lbs, I love Ashtanga, rock climbing, hiking, xc skiing and Pilates and the small fits me perfectly.

Backcountry partner and dinner jacket
Review by Andrea Lieberman

I bought this jacket (after trying several other brands) so I could throw on a super light weight but incredibly warm layer after a big backcountry ski climb, to keep warm while transitioning to downhill mode. It’s perfect in that role: it feels big and puffy and insulating over my sweaty base layer after a tough climb, but packs down small and light into my pack when I’m ready to climb again. What I didn’t expect was that it was so pretty to wear out to a special dinner in town - usually I feel like the Michelin Man in a down jacket built for backcountry, but this one looks stylish enough (for my taste) to wear in civilization!

Billowy Goodness
Review by Chelsey

I'm 5'6", 125lbs. and I got the small, Ibiza Blue. Fit my body great and love that the length of the sleeves is adequate. Wasn't sure I would like the internal cuff of the sleeves, but after wearing gloves with this jacket, I realize that it creates a better transition of glove into sleeve. Normally I would choose black or a dark color for a coat, but I wanted something more bold and unique. This is a great shade of blue! It's not a juvenile baby blue and it's not a bright turquoise- it's a subtle version of sky blue. The material is so soft that I was skeptical of its integrity, but I have accidentally brushed up against chicken wire twice and No Snags! I would definitely re-buy/recommend this puffy.

Love and please make in black
Review by Liz C

Love this. So warm, so amazing. Really want it in black.

Perfect everyday winter coat
Review by TW

Amazing product, quality, and customer service!! Very impressed!

Downy Heaven
Review by Kathryn

Love. Love. LOVE! This coat is fabulous. Fits perfect. Keeps me toasty, even in 50 mph winds and sub-zero temps. On bitter days, I wear the Sweetwater fleece under it, which is a brilliant mid-layer, and can work outside for hours in whatever nastiness and stay warm and happy. I'm small, 5'3" 105 lbs, so staying warm outside is a big challenge I take very seriously.

Hometown Down Jacket
Review by Natalie

I love my Hometown Down Jacket, which I got in the Ocean green. It is so pretty and lightweight and warm. I'm in it all day long.

Review by ClimbLikeAGirl

I practically live in this jacket when it's cold. It's the puffy I never knew I needed until I bought it. My only complaint is a lack of a stuff pocket to take it climbing, but I went for a separate stuff sack to solve that. Super warm, super durable, and comfy AF.

Mixed Bag
Review by Lucy

This jacket is nice and light and well built but not as warm as I had hoped. Also, the zipper is not very robust, the sleeve cuffs are quite loose and non-adjustable and zipper on the inner pocket has an awkward placement. I am not sure there is something better out there, though..

light weight and my new fav
Review by becrowbe

this jacket is so lightweight it is hard to believe how warm it is. it fits perfectly too. if a puffer can be supremely functional yet flattering at the same time this jacket nails it. i was thrilled how nicely it fit and hits on my hips, length in arms everything. i am 5'8 135 and bought the medium. perfect for layering underneath on cold ski days. extremely happy with this investment.

down perfection
Review by a.e.

i LOVE this jacket. have spent years looking for the right fit for my 5'3" frame. this one hits all the marks for fit and warmth.

Review by Sniffy McWagsalot

I just received this jacket, but based on the initial wearing: it is hands down the nicest insulated jacket I have ever had. It's warm, extremely lightweight, and beautiful; with great details. Bravo, Stio! I am 5'1"/110 and the Small fits nicely with room for a sweater underneath.

Great Jacket
Review by Mags

I love this jacket. I purchased it as an upgrade for my other puffy and it is PERFECT. Keeps me warm, is a beautiful color (I got the Ibiza blue), it is just the right amount of puffiness and it packs super light and small. I would recommend this jacket to anyone! I got a medium for my frame (5'5, 125lbs) but I have wider shoulders, fits perfect. So warm. If you are considering it, just go for it. Worth it!

Great warm jacket without the bulk
Review by Leah

I wore this jacket early in the spring on bird surveys where I had to sit still for an 1 1/2 hours in very cold temperatures. This jacket does the trick and kept me warm. I appreciate that it is also stylish and doesn't look gigantic. I also appreciate that there are color options beyond black or pink. A small worked for me and I am 5'7" and 130 lbs.

Everyday puffy
Review by GreenT

Warm and comfortable, I have worn this puffy almost every day since I bought it. It is now my go-to winter coat. I was worried that the hot pink color would be a bit over the top, but I love it (especially the orange accents). I'm 5'9" and 130-ish with long arms, and the medium fits perfectly.

Best Puffy Ever
Review by Mia

I am a self admitted puffy junkie and this jacket takes the cake! The material feels amazing to the touch and to have an 800-fill jacket that doesn't make you look like Randy from A Christmas Story is quite the trick! I'm 5'6", 140 lbs., athletic build. A medium fits me perfectly, while allowing for good movement without the jacket feeling bulky. I'm so in love with this jacket.

Cerise is my favorite!
Review by LW - Staff

I am head over heels in LOVE with the new Cerise color. The bright magenta will keep spirits high in the long, dark months of winter. As always, the quality is top notch. The jacket is so soft and shiny, it makes you feel like you're wearing a sleeping bag. With 800 fill down, I am never cold, bring on the snow and the sub-zero temps!

Love this jacket
Review by colleen

I love this puffy . It was my go to jacket all winter and I spend everyday outside in the Wasatch Mountains, Utah. Whether I am skiing, snow shoeing, riding my horse , or going out on the town this was the jacket to have. Fits great and doesn't make you look like a Michelin man. You know what I mean. NIce trim sporty fit. I buying this jacket for all my kids for ski season this year.

One word: Warm.
Review by JB

I typically run cold (aka, air conditioning makes me put on a fleece), but I cannot imaging ever running cold with this jacket, even in the worst parts of winter. It's incredibly warm. I love the fleece lined pockets (which are full sized and not shallow like some competitors'), and the fleece that is found inside the jacket 360 degrees around the collar adds a lot to the warmth. The hood adjustment is great. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the wide baffles compared to the more narrow baffles found on the men's model, but they're probably needed to make the jacket as warm as it is. Well done, Stio.

Love it
Review by Dara

I have fallen in love with this jacket. It is so soft and warm. I got the medium and fits perfect for me (5'2", 120 lbs).

Very fashionable
Review by Hudson Valley

I searched high and low for a winter jacket for walking/hiking and maybe skiing when it's below 25 degrees. I settled on this jacket and am mostly happy I did. It's very fashionable and has all the features it should (like zippered pockets and a soft lining inside the neck to make it cozier when zipped all the way up). The only thing I would say about it is that it's not as warm as I'd hoped. I usually don't get super cold but if it's below 25 degrees and you are not vigorously exercising, you need a few layers. That's my only comment. Otherwise, it's slim fitting and flattering. Sleeves a little longer than most.

Light Jacket But Perfect for Extreme Temperatures
Review by MM in Philly

Got my Hometown Down Hooded Jacket as a Christmas present. Absolutely love the jacket. Extremely light, but very warm. I have been wearing it everywhere including the office over the past week during the winter freeze we have been experiencing. Been running around in temperatures in the low 20s and teens, and have not felt cold. Wish I could justify having a second one.

Warm and light
Review by NP

This is such a warm jacket and have enjoyed mine for over 1 year. I have found that the Ilume Cire exterior fabric tears too easily, but that has not stopped me from reaching for this jacket every time I head out in cold weather. Thanks.

Overall excellent
Review by Kate

Love the colors and the fixed super warm hood. The overall loft is warm but not bulky and the neck fabric eliminates that cold spot of most coats. Length is perfect, not too short. Love it!

Color is Perfect
Review by Montana Outdoors

I spent a long time looking for something that was not neon or pastel. I picked out the dark blue and am very happy with it. I chose a large based on the reviews of others which seems perfect in the body but long in the sleeves. Even so, I like it; it's warm and lightweight.

beautiful coat
Review by ccr

This is a nice looking coat and the quality is amazing (we have many Stio coats and really love them). I ordered a Medium which usually works for me, but because I want to be able to wear layers, I am going to tryout the large.

Great coat, warm, fits well. Gets dirty easily.
Review by C Miller

This is a warm, wind resistant coat, and the hood is a handy feature. Only complaint is that I bought the light green color and it already had dirty spots on it. Wishing I had the dark blue instead. Would hide things like drips of dirty snow melt from the roofs I passed under.

Amazing Jacket!
Review by Lination

This is extremely warm and looks beautiful. I ordered one, the inside pocket hem was broken, but Stio immediately accepted it and sent a new one immediately after (fedex expedited shipment). Great customer service and fantastic jacket. Ready for Wyoming winter!

Silky Smooth Warmth
Review by Liz - Staff

This jacket is so soft and silky smoth I cannot stop touching it. I wear it all the time - taking the dog out in the early morning during the fall and layering it in the winter - it's so warm and cozy, I just love it. I'm a 5' 6'' typical small and this jacket runs true to size for me.

Loved It!
Review by Leah

This was a great purchase. I've had this down jacket for a few years and still love it. The color (blue) was unique and the cut was perfect for my petite frame (5'01", 115 lbs). The x-small fits snugly, I think I could also size up to a small if I wanted to put large layers under it. I would order this jacket again.

Super warm and light
Review by New England Girl

Loved this jacket on the coldest days. Perfect for around town and on the slopes. Very light, soft and comfy. I never had to come in because of the cold all season.

My forever favorite
Review by Staff - Maura

The Women's Hometown Down Jacket is my staple, season after season. Then fabric is so soft and supple and has a beautiful sheen that separates it from any other down jackets out there. I get a new color (or two:) every year!

Nice jacket
Review by mountainwoman

Just wanted to add that the Eiffel Tower color is much more silver/pewter colored than the picture looks. I expected it to be more of a shiny charcoal grey or something, but it's lighter than that. Still a nice color, but not what I expected.

Review by BabyDoll

I love this jacket. I am normally a small, but got a medium and I like the extra room. The interior pockets are a good size and location. The cuff's scallop shape fits with gloves nicely. The best part is the neck, I like to zip the coat up fully to protect my face and neck. No drafts and no irritation. Did I mention is super warm?

I live in this puffy!
Review by SkiMT

This jacket is such a fun color and I get tons of complements on how it fits (I wear a medium. I am 5'5" and 145 pounds). I wear this jacket to and from work everyday, out on the town, and for skiing. The puffy weight is exactly what I was looking for... not too bulky, but still cozy on the slopes. I highly recommend this jacket.

Love this jacket
Review by jt

I love this jacket. It's very warm but light and comfortable. It's not too bulky for a down jacket. I highly recommend it. Stio has great products!

Worth the Wait
Review by KT

I had to wait until one came back in stock in indigo.
It was well worth it! fit is true to size. 5'8" 143 lbs Meduim fits perfectly.
Warm but very soft for a puffer. Wore it with light weight shirt when warmer and fleece shirt when really cold.
Only suggestion, it could have a heavier zipper for a winter sport jacket.

Sending it back
Review by E

Ordering was fast and easy. I ordered the Poinciana color jacket which is a great color. Fit of the L was good for 5'4" 125#, but disappointed b/c the shell is too thin. It showed the dark down feathers through the fabric which made the jacket look like it was stained. I've seen this in some of Patagonia's lighter colored down sweaters, where its not attractive either but they are usually designed to be worn as a layer. This jacket is designed as an outer layer, so I expected the fabric would be more robust and not so transparent.

Defective, awaiting refund
Review by Nancy

Great design. A bit short for a 6' frame. The quality of construction was in general very high except for a glaring absence of down at one inner elbow section. Very odd indeed!

Review by Lander

Please, please, please don't change a single thing about this jacket!!! It's literally the best down layer I've EVER purchased and I'm already looking forward to buying another in the future.

I have one of the originals, so it's a few years old, and it's still as puffy and warm as the day I brought it home!

Love it!
Review by Lisa

I got the orange and love everything about it. It has been cold here and I put on a super lightweight jacket underneath and it's perfect. It fits and looks great.

1st Stio Purchase
Review by TFlovetorun

Patagonia has always been my go to for my outerwear, no more!! Cannot say enough how FABULOUS this jacket is. From the warmth, fit, color and style. Amazingly enough, this jacket keeps me cozy warm on winters coldest days and also works great for those unseasonably warmer winter days. Will be buying the longer version of this next season :-))

lighter than a feather
Review by ceevee

I loved the bright orange color of this jacket online and I am happy to say it is at least as bright in person. Some lighter-colored jackets show the darker feathers through a lot; this one does only very slightly. Best of all though is when you put it on---it feels like you just put on a warm cloud--it doesn't weigh anything and it is so toasty! Love it!

Review by AMiller

Did a pretty good job keeping me warm last weekend skiing in Vermont. However, I'm very disappointed that the other fabric isn't stronger. The jacket sprung a leak (hole) in my first weekend skiing this season. I hope it survives the season at least.

Toasty Jacket
Review by Winikins

I just purchased this jacket at the flagship store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This jacket is incredibly soft, warm, and cozy. I could not be happier with the quality and warmth of the Hometown jacket. It is slightly longer than many down jackets, so it covers the waist nicely and keeps out drafts. Black Iris is a true navy. The hand warmer pockets are soft as is the neckline.

Just perfect!

soft as an angels cheek
Review by snowzoom

This is a warm, well designed, down coat. It is so soft and water repellent at the same time. I love it so much.

Wear all the time
Review by CM

This jacket is so comfy, soft, cozy, and warm - now my go to jacket for most things, including wearing under my Enviro Jacket while both on mountain skiing and backcountry skiing. Love the fashionable fit and detail but really love that it is 800 fill and very warm without looking like your at basecamp. Very hip and super comfortable.

the perfect jacket
Review by nic

I recently moved from a southern state to northern new england and began my search for the perfect everyday cold weather jacket. I ordered and tried on many many many blue jackets....North Face, Norrona, Mont Bell, Mountain Hardware....but this jacket was the clear winner on fit, style, color and value. I also love the handwarming pockets...a cozy touch. You wont be disappointed.

Review by Aussie ski

Excellent product great fit and great value
I waited 12 months for the right colour to come up to purchase

Warm, Good-lookin'

The is warm warm warm. It looks good, too.
I'm getting my husband one, too. The manly one, though.

Great jacket for cold climates.
Review by wittyschmitty

Ladies, if you want a jacket for winter that is function and stylish, then the hometown down is for you. It is incredibly warm and is trimmed to show off your curves. I have been waiting all year to buy this jacket and I'm so glad I finally have one.

First Stio purchase and I love it!
Review by Rachel

I ordered this jacket when it was 50% off and I've never gotten a better deal on a down jacket. Its an incredibly soft, light weight, well thought out jacket.
Living in Alaska, I'll probably wear this almost year round as it fits well under a rain coat too.
I love this jacket and have gotten alot of compliments on it- even the logo is cool! I'm definitely going to watch Stio's website for future purchases.

Soft, Functional Hug on a cold day
Review by Shen

After searching for the perfect warm as can be puffy jacket, I am happy to say that the Hometown Down was the right choice. Its like wearing a bath. Not kidding. Its warm, snuggly, soft, and makes the cold days a whole lot better. This isn't a fashion piece. Its built well- cant believe how lightweight the fabric is and not a single feather has poked through. It has the right amount of pockets in the right place and works as the piece you pull out of your pack on top of a mountain while eating a quick something before bombing downhill as well as just the right jacket on a freezing cold day around town. #sohappy.

This Snow Angle was never so happy> warm and cozy in the cold!
Review by Tami

Its like wearing a warm hug!

Review by tschaff

I need the Hometown Down in every color. I am living in mine this fridgid winter. Its kept me so warm and at the same time its super chic, soft and light weight!

New favorite down jacket!
Review by Jessie

This jacket is SUPER soft, warm, cozy and well designed! I love the color (purple), the cuff design that comes down further over your hands and the hood is perfect! This has replaced my Patagonia as my go-to day to day down jacket - which is saying a lot in the chilly New England climate this year!

From the moment you touch it, you want it
Review by Katlyn

Santa also brought this my tree this year and it is by the far loveliest feeling down jacket in my collection (which, admittedly, is extensive). The moment your hand squeezes this jacket you know this is not your ordinary down jacket. The nylon exterior is the softest and most supple I have ever felt. The down fill is superior to most out there and delivers incredible warmth in a sexy, flattering cut.

Sleeve is nice and long and keeps your wrists and top of hand nicely covered. The cut is super flattering and does not leave you with some "Michelin Man" stack of tire look. Hood is tall enough to fit over helmet when sitting on chairlift in blowing snow (feature tested this past week in Vermont of all places!) interior chest pocket fits iPhone perfectly.

I pick this jacket off the collection rack first.

Love it! Ditto, it feels like wearing a sleeping bag!
Review by April

I am amazed by how light this jacket is and how warm it is for the thickness/weight of it. I received it as a gift, and for the weight of the box I never would have guessed it was a coat. I've worn this jacket in temperatures ranging from 0-40 F and I've been very comfortable. It is very cute and flattering. It also packs down very very small so this jacket will probably find its way into the backcountry too. It has a fleece lining in the pockets and around the neck which are nice touches as well. I've been looking for a down coat like this for a while, and I would definitely recommend this coat to anyone who is looking for a casual coat or something to wear in the backcountry.

Well Done
Review by DebW

Well thought out. Warm. Sleeve cuff detail the best.

This jacket feels like sleeping in a cozy sleeping bag.

The Hometown Down is so soft and warm! The style and fit are very flattering. I want to wear it all the time!
