Simple easy everything use jacket!
Review by madeline

Hieght: 5' 4"
Weight: 110 lbs
Normal size: xs
Purchased size: xs

This is probably the most flattering down/puffy jacket i've ever worn. Super warm and comfy! I would prefer the length to be a little shorter style wise, but the length will be good for skiing. Love that it packs into a little bag! My only complaint is that I bought the tomato color thinking it was a warm bright red like the picture, it real life however it is more like a hot coral pink. Just a heads up in case you wanted a true red jacket!

Beautiful color
Review by Natalie

The clear blue color of my Women's Pinion Down jacket is really lovely. Seems bright and light for winter or spring. Fit seems a little snug through shoulders for a medium.

Love it!
Review by Tasia

I love this coat. It is thin enough to wear in the late summer and not be too hot, but it is also warm enough that on a warm day skiing you could wear it. I have owned this coat for almost a year and it has traveled to every single competition I have gone too. It is very durable and has never torn. Would recommend to everyone!

Great Jacket!
Review by Lana

I am really happy with this jacket! Its incredibly warm and not bulky at all. I purchased the Atlantic Deep color and I'd say its slightly brighter than what is shown above but still not obnoxious. I purchased a medium and I am 5'3", 125lbs and it fits great - I personally would not have went any smaller. This jacket is warm, slim, looks nice and feels great! I'd highly recommend.

Quality jacket
Review by Celeste

This jacket is wonderful quality and beautiful color (Atlantic). I originally ordered a medium and it just fit so I'm sending it back for a large. It is a trim fit and I just like a little more room. Love the color so I will be taking it everywhere. Love the little sack too!

better than Patagonia
Review by Jackie

Very soft and silky feeling and extremely light. You can really pack this down and travel with it. It has a slimmer fit than Patagonia's down sweater jacket, which I love. Beautiful. I am 5 feet 2 inches, 136 lbs and medium fits me well.

Packable and Stylish
Review by Mackie

This jacket is as advertised: feminine cut, packable, and warm. It is a little lighter than I anticipated, but I consider the lower bulk to be a bonus! It fits not only under a larger ski jacket but also under a basic rain shell quite nicely -- no Christmas Story snowsuit feel at all! It is more flattering than another very similar Patagonia jacket I own. I prefer this cut with my petite build - 5'1'', 130 lbs, and a shorter torso. I ordered a medium, and it fit over my hips (average) and the sleeves were not too long. Paid a premium, but I consider it to be worthwhile. Only small negative is I wish it packed into its own pocket rather than the stuff sac.
Thanks, Stio!

Cozy and Warm
Review by Anna R.

I really love my new Pinion jacket. I have the green color, and it's really nice. Not too bright, but different from the everyday black and navy. It's warm without being too warm, and good as a layer under a raincoat. And the stuff sack is super helpful for tucking it away when it's not needed (like when it was freezing here in MA but 80 degrees when we arrived in FL--stuffed it in the sack while there and popped it back out when we landed in the freezing temps!). The only thing I'd change is the Stio embroidery at the hip -- it's already starting to wear on mine a bit. It's maybe in a place that gets a lot of wear, so either using a heavier duty patch or threading for the stitching or maybe moving it up to the chest? Otherwise it's a great little jacket.

Cozy and Warm
Review by Anna

I really like my new Pinion Jacket. It's not bulky, and adequately warm without being too warm. Just right! I have the green color and I like that it's not too bright, just kind of a cool jade color that doesn't stand out but is unique enough to be different from the every day black or navy. I appreciate the stuff sack too for squirreling it away when I don't need it. I'm worried the Stio embroidery on the lower left won't hold up too well around the hip area as it's already showing wear, but that's my one suggestion for improving it. It's otherwise a great little jacket.

Just as with the fleece, I find this down jacket to be the best fit, the best quality, the best color, the best practical use, the warmest and the lightest.

Great Year Round Layer
Review by Rachel (Staff)

I love the slimmer fit of this lightweight down jacket. Its perfect for year round use. Its great on summer climbing trips when I need a little bit of extra warmth and layers perfectly under a ski shell.

this down layer will never see my storage closet...
Review by Madison (Staff)

It is an awesome weight for year-round use. I wore it skiing under a shell and on its own for some spring laps. I throw it on to walk to yoga on chilly mornings, and I'll definitely keep it in my car to throw on after evening trail runs. And it looks great with a pair of jeans. I went with the Orion Blue - I love the way the zipper pops. I'm 5ft 5in, 120-125 lbs, and wear a size SM.

Super Packable and Warm
Review by Liz B. - Staff

I've been loving the Pinion Sweater this spring season. It's a super trim, lightweight jacket that I take in my pack when skinning and fits well under a ski shell. It throws a lot of heat for how low bulk it is and looks great with ski pants and with jeans and boots around town. It was an easy no-brainer to pack on my beach trip too for a warmer layer in the evenings and mornings. I have the Pinion Vest as well and have all the same great things to say about that style too.

A New Favorite
Review by khill - staff

The Pinion is my new favorite midlayer this ski season. I've always been a down lover and this light, sleek layer is no exception. The wears like a slim jacket and has great range of motion. The fabric has just enough interest and the Brilliant Blue looks amazing with all of my brights.
This is also great for shoulder season travel. When you are leaving winter temps and heading to spring, Pinion packs easily and adds little weight to luggage.
