What’s in a name? For us, it’s at the heart of every product and collection we sell, and each one is meant to tell a deeper story. Some are inspired by our surroundings: the mountains, rivers and trails where we play throughout the valley. Others honor the history, character, and culture that make our hometown the special place it is. All of them are infused with the spirit of our company, our values and our commitment to innovation. After all, no Stio piece is like any other, because of the special care and attention that goes into every detail. Naming is our way of not only communicating these core attributes or the intended use of each product, but of honoring its inspiration by celebrating the reasons we exist: to foster exploration and connection to the natural world around us.

CFS

Our flagship mountain water sport collection pays homage to the stretches of river we live to run all summer long. Named CFS, which stands for “cubic feet per second”, each style pairs UPF 50+ sun protection with water-resistant, quick-drying fabric, and four-way stretch ideal for casting, rowing, paddling or simply soaking up lazy days on the lake.

OPR

OPR, an acronym for “Old Pass Road”, celebrates the main gateway to some of the best singletrack in Teton Valley, accessed by an old road at the base of Teton Pass. A fitting name for our expanded collection of technical mountain bike apparel, capable of switching back and forth from saddle to post-ride beers at the Stagecoach Bar on your way back into town.

Exploit

Our Gannet Peak Fleece collection is named after the Wind River Range's Gannett Peak, the highest peak in Wyoming (elev. 13,809'.) Named for the second highest peak in the Wind River Range (elevation 13,751'), the Fremont collection is our core athleisure offering, inspired by the get-after-after attitude of our hometown. Inspired by the natural surroundings that draw us to our hometown, our Sweetwater collection pays homage to the home of the Green River headwaters, Sweetwater County, just south of Jackson Hole.
